Cristofer — the name through an olfactory lens

The name Cristofer is a variant of Christopher/Cristoforo and goes back to the Greek Christophoros, “Christ-bearer”. In Western tradition, the name is also associated with Saint Christopher, the patron saint of travellers. From this core — journey, crossing, protection, strength and direction — this olfactory interpretation takes shape.

BERGAMOTTO INVERNALE BASE represents the light at the beginning of the journey: a clear, fresh and immediate opening. ARIA SARDA BASE introduces the idea of horizon, wind and movement, like an open space to be crossed.

HEDIONE 964898 FIRMENICH is the material of transition: it creates continuity between the opening and the heart, increases diffusion and gives the composition a sense of breath and distance. ZAFFERANO BASE adds a drier, spicy and slightly leathery accent, evoking travel through precious materials, textiles, spices and weathered surfaces.

ISO E SUPER® TOCO IFF builds the woody structure of the perfume: direction, support and continuity. CASHMERAN® IFF makes this structure more tactile and material, with impressions of wood, leather and warmth.

AMBROX® SUPER brings a mineral, saline and ambery facet that recalls the crossing of water, an image deeply connected with the iconography of Saint Christopher. HABANOLIDE®, in turn, represents the trace left behind by passage: a dry, persistent and distinctive musk that extends the presence of the composition.

BENZOINO RESINOIDE (SUMATRA) closes the selection with a resinous, balsamic and contemplative dimension. Used in a small amount, it can emphasize the warmer, protective and spiritual side of the composition; it can also be omitted to keep the profile drier, more mineral and contemporary.

This selection is not intended to describe the personality of anyone who bears the name. It is a creative translation of the etymology and cultural imagery of Cristofer into the language of perfumery materials.
