About Us | La Profumiera di Venezia
La Profumiera di Venezia
La Profumiera di Venezia is an Italian shop specialising in professional raw materials and ingredients for making perfume, based in Venice-Mestre. It is designed for independent perfumers, students, creators and small brands that want to work with professional materials in accessible quantities.
The selection is curated by Irina Vaganova, an independent perfumer working professionally since 2016, founder of La Profumiera di Venezia, teacher of perfume composition and fragrance creator. Daily work with formulas guides both the choice of materials and the way they are described in the shop.
Raw materials selected for formulation
The catalogue includes aroma chemicals, essential oils, absolutes and other natural raw materials, musks, woody ambers, resinoids, perfume bases, solvents and other materials used in composition. When a raw material comes from an international manufacturer such as IFF, dsm-firmenich, Symrise, Givaudan, Robertet or another manufacturer named on the product page, the manufacturer’s name identifies the origin of the material.
Raw-material manufacturer and packaging
Many raw materials are purchased in professional formats and subsequently portioned and packaged by La Profumiera di Venezia so that they can also be offered in small quantities. For this reason, the stated manufacturer of the raw material does not necessarily mean that the bottle received is a retail package sealed directly by the original manufacturer.
This distinction keeps the origin of the material clear while making quantities suitable for study, formula development and small-scale production available.
Useful technical information
Product pages are structured so that, where available, trade name, manufacturer, CAS number, material type, concentration and function in the formula can be read immediately. For many raw materials, the shop also provides olfactory profile, use in formula, synergies and manufacturer technical data.
Use levels indicated by the manufacturer should not be confused with IFRA limits. When an IFRA limit is stated, it must be interpreted in relation to the specific category of the finished product and the current documentation.
Small formats, professional use
One of the shop’s aims is to make professional raw materials available to people who do not immediately require industrial quantities. Many ingredients are therefore offered in small formats, with larger quantities available for selected materials.
This makes it possible to compare similar materials, build a technical palette, test dilutions and develop a formula before moving to larger quantities.
Support in choosing materials
If you already know the trade name or CAS number, you can search directly for the raw material. If you are starting from a formulation objective, you can use the collections dedicated to diffusion, fixation, woody ambers, aquatic and marine accords, or building a first palette.
For more guided selection, the shop also offers a Raw Material Assistant.
