Collection: Solvents
Solvents and co-solvents for preparing dilutions, working solutions and perfume compositions.
This collection includes only materials used as solvents or co-solvents. DPG and TEC perform different technical functions and can affect volatility, viscosity, solubility and the behaviour of a formula.
How to choose a solvent for perfumery
DPG (Dipropylene Glycol) is one of the most widely used solvents for preparing dilutions and supporting non-alcoholic or mixed formulas. TEC (Triethyl Citrate) is a low-volatility co-solvent useful when a less glycolic carrier is preferred and is compatible with many odorant raw materials.
Technical additives, such as antioxidants, are grouped separately in the Solvents and Additives collection. Individual product pages provide function, physical state and technical information useful for formulation.
