Collection: Heart Notes
Raw materials and bases that can contribute to the heart of a fragrance, the phase where much of its olfactory identity and the connection between opening and base become apparent.
Floral, spicy, fruity, aromatic and some woody or musky materials can work in the heart with very different functions: olfactory signature, volume, linkage, diffusion or texture. The pyramid remains an orientative model, however, and many ingredients contribute across several phases of a composition.
How to build the heart of a fragrance
The heart should not be treated as an isolated block. It should receive the energy of more volatile notes and gradually lead toward the base. Floral and diffusive materials can create openness and volume; spices and fruits can add contrast; transparent woods and musks can increase continuity and cohesion.
The position of a material in the pyramid also depends on dosage and formula. Product pages include olfactory profile, function and available technical information.
