VELVIONE™ GIVAUDAN
VELVIONE™ is a macrocyclic musk with a soft, powdery and slightly animalic character. It is useful when a warmer and more sensual musky base is needed than clean musks provide, with an ambrette-like nuance that adds depth without becoming heavy.
Olfactory profile
Musky, powdery, soft and slightly animalic, with nuances of ambrette, warm skin, powder and a light amber component.
In formula
It is particularly useful in musks, white flowers, amber, powdery accords and skin-like compositions. It can add volume and roundness to the base, soften woods and florals and create a more intimate, velvety sensation.
With EXALTOLIDE it becomes softer and more natural-feeling; with MUSCENONE® it gains greater sensuality; with white flowers it increases creaminess; with dry woods it creates an elegant contrast between structure and softness.
How to work with it
It can be liquid or slightly waxy depending on temperature. It is useful to evaluate it both initially and in the drydown, where its role in volume and continuity becomes more evident.
When to choose it
It is particularly suitable when a soft, powdery and slightly animalic macrocyclic musk is needed, more sensual than clean musks and less incisive than more overtly animalic musks.
