TIMBEROL® Symrise

TIMBEROL® is a very powerful woody-amber raw material characterized by pronounced dryness and a warm, slightly animalic and patchouli-like component. It is useful when a formula needs a more material and incisive woody structure than transparent woody-amber materials provide.

Olfactory profile

Woody, amber, dry and warm, with nuances of patchouli, dark wood, dust and a light animalic-green component. The character is highly persistent and rougher rather than velvety.

In formula

It is particularly useful in woods, amber, leather, fougère, modern patchouli and woody-musky structures. It can increase depth and persistence, add tension to woods that feel too soft and create a very recognizable dry base.

With ISO E SUPER® it gains more volume and transparency; with CASHMERAN® it becomes more textured and musky; with patchouli it increases the sensation of dark wood; with AMBER XTREME™ or other amber boosters it can build extremely powerful structures.

How to work with it

It is a high-impact material and requires accurate dosing. It is useful to evaluate it in dilution and over time: an excess can make the formula rigid and the base excessively dry.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable when a very dry, warm and structural woody-amber signature is needed, more material and darker than ISO E SUPER® or TIMBERSILK™.
