SANDALWOOD BASE

A compound perfume base designed to build or reinforce a creamy, soft and woody sandalwood note. The profile is warm, rounded and enveloping, with a velvety texture that can add depth to the base without making it excessively dry.

It is particularly useful when a recognizable sandalwood effect needs to be obtained quickly or when woody, amber, floral or musky structures need to be softened.

Olfactory profile

Woody, creamy, warm, soft, slightly sweet and milky. The character is rounder and smoother than a dry wood such as cedar.

Function in formula

SANDALWOOD BASE can be used as a base note, as the foundation of a sandalwood accord or as a bridging material between woods, musks, flowers and amber notes. It helps create volume, softness and continuity in the lower part of the formula.

How to use it

As a compound base, the level depends on the desired effect. At lower amounts it can round and soften the base; as the concentration increases it can become a clear sandalwood signature in the composition.

Useful synergies

Particularly interesting with cedar, vetiver, patchouli, amber woods, musks, vanilla, tonka, white flowers, rose, iris and lactonic notes. It can also soften oud, leather or tobacco accords.

When to choose it

It is suitable when a composition needs more softness and creaminess in the base, when a sandalwood accord needs to be built quickly, or when drier and more powerful woods should be rounded by a warmer, more velvety base.
