OUD ROSE BASE – rosy, woody and amber oud note

OUD ROSE BASE

OUD ROSE BASE is a compound base combining a dark, velvety rose with a woody, resinous and amber oud base. It is useful when an immediately readable rose-oud direction needs to be built quickly, while still leaving room to adjust the balance between flower, wood, resins and spices.

Olfactory profile

Floral, woody, amber and slightly smoky, with nuances of dark rose, petals, soft honey, oud, resin and warm wood.

In formula

It is particularly useful in rose-oud, floral amber, leather, incense, spice and oriental-woody compositions. It can work as the central accord or as a module to reinforce an existing formula.

With SAFFRON BASE it gains more tension and dryness; with LABDANUM it becomes more amber; with PATCHOULI and leather it darkens; with musks and sandalwood it becomes softer and more enveloping.

BASE or accord built from scratch?

The base offers an already balanced relationship between rose and oud. An accord built from individual raw materials allows separate control over petals, honey, wood, smoke, resin and animalic facets. The two approaches can also be combined.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable when an immediately recognizable rose-oud structure is needed, to use as a starting point or reinforcement in amber, woody and dark-floral formulas.
