OSMANTHUS BASE

OSMANTHUS BASE is a floral-fruity base built around the effect of osmanthus, with a soft, apricot-like and slightly leathery signature. It is useful when a velvety floral heart is needed to connect ripe fruit, flowers and the base without becoming overly sweet.

Olfactory profile

Floral, fruity and velvety, with nuances of apricot, tea, petals, soft leather and a light honeyed component.

In formula

It is particularly useful in fruity florals, tea, soft leather, modern chypre, osmanthus-style accords and light amber compositions. It can add roundness to the heart, introduce riper fruit and create a natural bridge between flowers and leathery notes.

With DAMASCONE ALPHA it gains greater fruity depth; with HEDIONE® it becomes more transparent; with tea and musks it develops a more elegant direction; with soft leather it increases the typical apricot-leather facet of osmanthus.

BASE or osmanthus absolute?

The base offers a more consistent and easily adjustable signature. A natural osmanthus absolute is more complex and variable, with more irregular fruity, floral and leathery nuances. The two approaches can also be combined.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable when a velvety floral-fruity material with an apricot and leathery nuance is needed, softer and more complex than a simple fruity base.
