OAKMOSS ABSOLUTE LOW ATRANOL / CHLOROATRANOL ROBERTET
Natural Evernia prunastri absolute with a mossy, earthy, green and deeply chypre character. The low-atranol/chloroatranol version retains the typical olfactory signature of oakmoss with a composition adapted to modern compliance standards.
Olfactory profile
Mossy, earthy, damp and green, with nuances of bark, forest floor, mushroom, algae, wet wood and a light saline component.
In formula
It is particularly useful in chypre, fougère, woody, leather, amber and green compositions. It can add depth and naturalness to the base, create contrast with citrus and flowers and bind patchouli, labdanum, vetiver and lavender into a more complex structure.
With bergamot it builds a classic chypre direction; with PATCHOULI it increases the forest-floor effect; with LABDANUM it becomes darker and more resinous; with lavender and coumarin it reinforces a fougère structure.
How to work with it
It is a dense and viscous material. It may require gentle warming before use and is useful to evaluate in dilution for easier dosing. Technical, safety and applicable-limit information is provided in the Technical Data section and IFRA documentation.
When to choose it
It is particularly suitable when a natural, earthy and mossy base note with authentic chypre character is needed, distinct from cleaner and more linear mossy reconstructions.
