METHYL OCTIN CARBONATE REPLACER IFF
METHYL OCTIN CARBONATE REPLACER is a green-floral raw material with a violet-leaf character, useful for building wet-leaf, mimosa and fresh-vegetation effects without relying on an excessively sharp green note.
Olfactory profile
Green, floral and slightly metallic, with nuances of violet leaf, mimosa, cucumber, unripe banana and fresh peach. The character is softer and fruitier than many traditional green notes.
In formula
It is particularly useful in violet, gardenia, tuberose, rose, mimosa and green florals. It can create an impression of fresh leaves, make the transition between green and flower feel more natural and add a vegetal nuance without turning the composition into an explicitly grassy accord.
With ionones it reinforces the violet facet; with MAYOL or HYDROXYCITRONELLAL it works well in green muguet accords; with FLORALOZONE or CYCLAMEN ALDEHYDE it gains more air and humidity; with fruity materials it can create peel and unripe-fruit nuances.
How to work with it
It works better when supported by other green, floral and musky materials rather than as the only green element in a formula. In dilution, its vegetal and fruity nuances become easier to read.
When to choose it
It is particularly suitable when a softer, more complex violet-leaf note is needed, capable of connecting petal, green and unripe fruit in modern floral compositions.
