METHYL ISOEUGENOL
METHYL ISOEUGENOL is a spicy-floral raw material with a warm, sweet and slightly woody character. It is especially useful in carnation, oriental and warm floral accords, where it introduces a softer, rounder clove nuance than ISOEUGENOL.
Olfactory profile
Spicy, floral, warm and slightly woody, with nuances of clove, sweet pepper, carnation, wood and a light balsamic component.
In formula
It is particularly useful in carnation, oriental, floral chypre, amber, spicy-wood and warm floral bouquets. It can add body to the heart, increase continuity between spices and flowers and soften a structure that feels too sharp.
With EUGENOL it develops a more direct clove facet; with ISOEUGENOL it becomes more floral and rounded; with LABDANUM and amber notes it gains depth; with ionones it can build more classical carnation accords.
METHYL ISOEUGENOL or ISOEUGENOL?
ISOEUGENOL is generally more direct, incisive and characteristically clove-carnation. METHYL ISOEUGENOL is softer, warmer and slightly woodier, and is therefore often easier to integrate into floral and oriental bases.
When to choose it
It is particularly suitable when a warm, elegant floral spice is needed that is less aggressive than ISOEUGENOL and capable of adding roundness and structure to carnation, amber and floral accords.
