METHYL IONONE GAMMA

METHYL IONONE GAMMA works in the iris-violet area with a broader, softer and more powdery texture than classic ionones. It is very useful when a floral heart needs greater elegance, volume and a more cosmetic, enveloping sensation.

Olfactory profile

Floral, woody, powdery, violet and iris, with creamy, slightly fruity and tobacco-like nuances. The character is less sharp than a simple ionone and more rounded and sophisticated.

In formula

METHYL IONONE GAMMA is particularly effective in iris, violet, rose and powdery-floral accords. It can add volume to the heart, connect flowers and woods and create a softer, more continuous “second-skin” sensation. In woody or amber accords it introduces a cosmetic nuance that softens dryness.

It is also useful in classically or retro-inspired perfumes where the powdery component should be present without becoming too sweet or vanilla-like.

METHYL IONONE GAMMA or IONONE BETA?

IONONE BETA is drier, woodier and more root-like; METHYL IONONE GAMMA is rounder, more powdery and creamier. The former builds a drier iris, the latter a softer and more velvety iris.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable for iris, violet, rose, powdery florals, cosmetic accords and soft woods when greater volume and refinement are desired without making the formula heavy.
