YELLOW MANDARIN ESSENTIAL OIL

YELLOW MANDARIN is a natural citrus essential oil with a sweet, juicy and bright character. Compared with lemon it is softer and fruitier; compared with bergamot it is less floral and more immediately recognizable as mandarin.

Olfactory profile

Citrusy, fruity, sweet and fresh, with nuances of mandarin peel, juicy pulp, sweet orange and a light green-floral component.

In formula

It is particularly useful in cologne, citrus, tea, fresh florals, fruity compositions, modern fougère and aromatic accords. It can add naturalness to the opening, soften sharper citrus materials and create a sunny, juicy effect.

With BERGAMOT it gains greater elegance and complexity; with lemon it becomes brighter; with neroli and PETITGRAIN it develops a more floral-aromatic direction; with CARDAMOM or coriander it can create a very modern spicy citrus effect.

How to work with it

Like many citrus essential oils, it is relatively volatile and sensitive to oxidation. It is best stored tightly closed, away from light and heat, and evaluated in the complete formula together with materials that support its persistence.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable when a sweeter, softer and fruitier citrus note than lemon or grapefruit is needed, with a natural impression of mandarin pulp and peel.
