MACROLIDE® SUPRA Symrise

MACROLIDE® SUPRA is a soft, elegant and highly persistent macrocyclic musk with a delicately animalic, sweet and fruity signature. Its particular value is its ability to make the base rounder and more sensual without introducing a detergent-like or excessively clean effect.

Olfactory profile

Musky, soft, sweet and slightly animalic, with fruity and violet nuances. Compared with more metallic or dry musks it has a softer texture and a more enveloping presence.

In formula

MACROLIDE® SUPRA is very useful for adding roundness and continuity. It can support red fruits such as raspberry, blackberry and blueberry, accompany violet and leather accords and soften floral and woody bases.

Its fixative action is interesting because it does more than increase persistence: it can improve the way a perfume wears on skin, creating a more even and soft transition between the different stages of the composition.

How to work with it

To bring out its fruity and violet nuances, it is useful to evaluate it in dilution as well. In musky bases it can be combined with drier materials such as HABANOLIDE® to create greater contrast and definition.

MACROLIDE® SUPRA or EXALTOLIDE® TOTALE?

The two materials share a natural-feeling, skin-like softness, but MACROLIDE® SUPRA shows a more evident fruity and violet facet, while EXALTOLIDE® TOTALE tends toward a more powdery and sensual roundness.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable for florals, red fruits, violet, leather and skin scents when a soft, elegant and persistent musk with a fruitier nuance than classic macrocyclic musks is desired.
