LINALOL COEUR is one of the most versatile materials in the perfumer’s palette: floral, fresh, slightly citrusy and woody, capable of connecting aromatic top notes with a floral heart without introducing an overly marked character.

Olfactory profile

Fresh floral, bois de rose, lavender, coriander, citrus and a light green nuance. The character is bright and natural-feeling, softer than a citrus terpene and less sweet than many classic floral materials.

In formula

LINALOL COEUR is particularly useful in rose, lavender, neroli, lily of the valley, jasmine, ylang-ylang, lilac, peony and citrus-aromatic accords. It can soften transitions, open up a heart that feels too dense and make the meeting of citrus, herbs and flowers feel more natural.

With LINALYL ACETATE it forms a fundamental pair for bergamot and lavender: LINALOL COEUR brings the floral-woody and slightly aromatic side, while LINALYL ACETATE adds softness, fruitiness and a more bergamot-like brightness.

Stability

Like other terpenic materials, linalool can oxidize during storage. For professional formulas it is important to work with well-preserved raw material and take into account IFRA guidance relating to oxidation products.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable when a formula needs a natural-feeling bridge between citrus, aromatic and floral notes, or when freshness and diffusion should be increased without making the composition excessively green or citrusy.
