CEDARWOOD BASE

CEDARWOOD BASE is a woody base built around a dry, clean and slightly musky cedar effect. It is useful when an already balanced cedar signature is needed that is more controllable than the variability of a natural essential oil.

Olfactory profile

Woody, dry, clean and slightly musky, with nuances of cedar, pencil shavings, soft leather and pale wood.

In formula

It is particularly useful in woody, fougère, leather, tobacco, musk and aromatic compositions. It can give structure to the base, dry out accords that feel too soft and create continuity between vetiver, amber and woods.

With VETIVER BASE it becomes earthier and drier; with SANDALWOOD BASE it gains more creaminess; with clean musks it develops a woody-musky direction; with tobacco and leather it becomes darker and more structured.

BASE or natural cedarwood?

The base offers greater consistency and an already built signature. A natural cedarwood essential oil is more terpenic, dry and variable, with characteristics linked to species and origin. The two can also be combined.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable when a clean, dry and reproducible cedar note is needed, or when the woody structure should be reinforced without increasing the terpenic component too much.

The value refers to the maximum concentration in the finished product, not to the percentage of the raw material in the fragrance concentrate.
