Volume

Colorless liquid.
Slightly soluble in water, soluble in alcohol and propylene glycol, mixes with oils.
It has a strong, intensely green and herbaceous smell.
Although this alcohol is used quite frequently in perfume compositions, it remains "light" in volume. It is an extremely powerful flavoring, and its use in perfumery is somewhat limited to certain types of compositions. It is also used in the production of artificial essential oils and floral absolutes.
Traces of cis-3-hexenol are used in the fresh, top notes of delicate floral perfumes, such as lily of the valley and lilac; the alcohol is often used alongside oils of geranium, jasmine, oakmoss, lavender, and mint in various perfumes.
In food products, this alcohol is present in imitation mint and various fruity compositions, but always in minimal quantities. The concentration used ranges from 1 to 5 parts per million in the finished product.
It is used to create top notes in floral and fruity perfumes, to imitate freshly cut grass, and can be used in all types of products. A typical green note, widely used. It is stable in perfumery and in various functional bases.
A fresh, green note, typical of freshly cut grass. Very useful and versatile, but also very easy to overdose. It imparts top-note effects to a wide spectrum of fragrances, including some that aren't intuitively obvious, like sandalwood.
This product has been in short supply on the market for many months, and as a result, there has been a very significant increase in price, transforming it from one of the cheapest materials to one of the most expensive.
