GERANIOL EXTRA
GERANIOL is a classic floral raw material with a rosy, fresh and slightly citrusy character. Compared with CITRONELLOL it is less citronella-like and more floral, with a geranium nuance that gives definition and structure to rose accords.
Olfactory profile
Rosy, floral, fresh and slightly citrusy, with nuances of geranium, jasmine, pear and sweet lemon peel. The character is bright and clean, with a light soapy impression.
In formula
It is particularly useful in rose, geranium, classical florals, citrus-florals and green accords. It can increase definition and freshness in the heart, support the rosy component and connect softer floral materials with brighter top notes.
With PHENYL ETHYL ALCOHOL it builds the body of a rose; with CITRONELLOL it increases freshness and brightness; with ionones it can develop a more powdery nuance; with HEDIONE® it gains greater diffusion.
GERANIOL or CITRONELLOL?
GERANIOL is more floral, rosy and geranium-like; CITRONELLOL is fresher, more citrusy and more citronella-like. In a rose accord the two materials work very well together, but perform different functions.
When to choose it
It is particularly suitable when a floral heart needs more definition, freshness and a clearer rosy signature.
