EXALTOLIDE® TOTALE is an exceptionally fine macrocyclic musk with a natural-feeling, sensual character. Its signature is soft, powdery and slightly animalic, with a discreet sweetness that makes it particularly effective when the base should blend into the skin rather than remain separate from the composition.

Olfactory profile

Musky, soft, powdery, warm, slightly sweet and animalic. The character is elegant and free of obvious harshness, with a roundness that distinguishes it from more metallic or detergent-like musks.

In formula

EXALTOLIDE® TOTALE adds depth and roundness and can improve continuity between the heart and base. In florals it softens the structure; in violet and leather accords it adds sensuality; in dark-fruit accords it supports raspberry, blackberry and blueberry without becoming an independent fruity note.

It is particularly useful when creating a skin-scent effect: it works not only as a fixative but as a texture that makes the perfume softer, more wearable and closer to the skin.

How to work with it

To evaluate its nuances, it is useful to test it in dilution, where the powdery side, sweetness and slight animalic facet become easier to read. In complex formulas it can be combined with drier or more metallic musks to obtain a more three-dimensional base.

HABANOLIDE® is drier, brighter and more structural; EXALTOLIDE® TOTALE is softer, more powdery and more skin-like. Together they make it possible to build a musk with both definition and sensuality.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable for florals, violet, leather, dark-fruit accords and skin scents when an elegant, natural-feeling musk that stays very close to the skin is desired.
