DMBC Acetate (Dimethyl Benzyl Carbinyl Acetate)
DMBC Acetate (CAS 151-05-03) is a fragrance ingredient with a sweet, floral, and fruity aroma, with a pronounced rose note enhanced by nuances of green pear, berries, and green jasmine. It has a powdery, fresh, aromatic, and green character, with accents of peach, plum, and cherry. It is a powerful, very floral, and sweet molecule, capable of lending freshness and vivacity to almost any floral bouquet.
It is widely used in perfumed compositions, especially to enhance the fragrances of soaps and cosmetics. It is commonly found in the bases of jasmine, rose, lily of the valley, geranium, hyacinth, and other floral fragrances, as well as in chypre compositions.
It is also used in perfumes designed to recreate the aroma of cherries and honey, as, when appropriately diluted, it recalls the scent of beeswax. It has also been used in fragrances inspired by rhubarb and green pepper. Concentrations generally range from 0.1% to 8%.
