DIHYDROMYRCENOL is one of the major molecules of modern freshness. Its character combines citrus, lime, lavender and a clean-laundry sensation, with very high diffusion that can immediately change the profile of the top and heart.

Olfactory profile

Fresh, citrusy, aromatic, lavender-like and slightly floral, with an effect of iced lemon, lime and clean air. The character is bright, clear-cut and highly diffusive.

In formula

DIHYDROMYRCENOL is particularly effective in fougère, aromatic, citrus, marine and clean accords. It can energize lavender and bergamot, increase the sensation of freshness in muguet and lilac and build the fresh signature typical of many contemporary structures.

In florals it can create contrast and lighten a heart that feels too soft; in woody and musky compositions it introduces a brighter, sportier opening. It is also an excellent material for understanding how much a single molecule can change the perception of freshness in an entire formula.

How to work with it

It is a powerful and very recognizable material. At high levels it can easily dominate the composition and give it a strongly fresh-clean character; at lower levels it can instead act as a booster of diffusion and luminosity without emerging as an independent note.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable for fougère, citrus, lavender, marine accords, clean musks and fresh compositions when a bright, energetic and highly diffusive signature is desired.
