DAMASCONE ALPHA
DAMASCONE ALPHA is an ultra-high-impact material from the rose-ketone family, fundamental for building modern, fruity and deep rose accords. Its character combines petal, dark fruit, wood and a green-metallic nuance that can quickly transform the heart of a formula.
Olfactory profile
Rosy, fruity, woody and slightly green, with nuances of plum, blackcurrant, cooked apple, berries and a light metallic-camphoraceous tension. The character is much darker and more three-dimensional than a simple rose note.
In formula
It is particularly useful in rose, plum, cassis, tea, chypre, woody-floral and dark-fruit accords. In traces it can add depth and naturalness; as the dosage increases, the damascone signature quickly becomes recognizable.
With PHENYL ETHYL ALCOHOL, CITRONELLOL and GERANIOL it builds a richer rose; with BLACKCURRANT BERRY BASE it increases the cassis effect; with ionones it develops a more powdery, violet-like nuance; with woods and musks it creates a more sophisticated drydown.
How to work with it
It is extremely powerful and is best evaluated at strong dilution. Even very small amounts can alter volume, diffusion and the fruity character of the heart, so it is preferable to proceed in minimal increments.
When to choose it
It is particularly suitable when a rose needs greater depth, dark fruit and diffusion, or when a sophisticated plum-cassis nuance is desired in florals, tea, chypre and woody compositions.
Packaging
The product is packed to order; the container may vary depending on the selected format and the characteristics of the raw material.
