CUIR DE RUSSIE BASE

CUIR DE RUSSIE BASE is a compound leather base inspired by the historical Cuir de Russie style: dark leather, smoke, birch tar, resins and tobacco. It is useful when a complex, deep leather structure is needed, richer than a simple suede effect.

Olfactory profile

Leathery, smoky, resinous and tobacco-like, with nuances of dark wood, incense, birch tar and balsams. The character is more austere and historical than SUEDERAL, which works on a softer suede-like leather.

In formula

It is particularly useful in leather, tobacco, chypre, amber, incense and dark-wood compositions. It can become the core of a leather fragrance or be used at lower levels to give the base a smoky, animalic patina.

With ISO BUTYL QUINOLINE it becomes greener, drier and sharper; with SUEDERAL it softens toward suede; with labdanum, styrax and benzoin it gains resinous depth; with vetiver and patchouli it develops a more earthy, dry structure.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable when a classic, smoky and resinous leather is desired, with greater depth and character than a simple suede accord.
