CIVETTE Synth is an extremely powerful animalic material designed to recreate the sensual warmth and depth traditionally associated with civet without using an animal-derived raw material. Its most interesting function almost always appears below the threshold of recognition.

Olfactory profile

Animalic, musky, warm, fetid and slightly fecal in the concentrated material, with a carnal depth and surprising softness when strongly diluted.

In formula

In traces it can add warmth, sensuality and a more living quality to jasmine, amber, oriental, tobacco, chypre and oud accords. In dark florals it can make the heart more carnal; in amber and musky bases it adds depth and a more complex skin-like nuance.

Its strength lies precisely in the fact that it does not need to be perceived as “civet”. At the right dosage, it can make the whole composition feel warmer, fuller and more sensual without revealing itself as a separate note.

How to work with it

It is best used at strong dilution and introduced in minimal amounts. The neat material is too intense for a useful evaluation and can quickly saturate the sense of smell. Comparing the same formula with and without a trace of CIVETTE Synth is an effective way to understand its structural role.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable for jasmine, amber, oriental, tobacco, oud, chypre and musky accords when animalic warmth and sensuality are desired without using animal-derived materials.
