CIS-3-HEXENYL SALICYLATE

CIS-3-HEXENYL SALICYLATE is a persistent green-floral raw material, useful for carrying a leaf-and-stem effect from the heart into the base of a composition. Compared with CIS-3-HEXENOL, it is much less volatile and softer, with a salicylate component that makes it particularly suitable for white flowers.

Olfactory profile

Green, floral, balsamic and slightly sweet, with nuances of leaf, orchid, ylang-ylang, fresh grass and a light solar component.

In formula

It is particularly useful in tuberose, ylang-ylang, orchid, white flowers, green accords and solar florals. It can prolong a green note, create continuity from top to base and make a floral structure more vegetal without introducing the aggressiveness of leaf alcohol.

With CIS-3-HEXENOL it creates a fuller, more natural greenness; with BENZYL SALICYLATE it increases the body and persistence of white flowers; with AMYL SALICYLATE it develops a broader green direction; with tuberose or ylang-ylang it reinforces the vegetal side of the flower.

CIS-3-HEXENOL or CIS-3-HEXENYL SALICYLATE?

CIS-3-HEXENOL is much more volatile, raw and immediately reminiscent of a broken leaf; CIS-3-HEXENYL SALICYLATE is softer, more persistent and more floral. The first provides the green attack, while the second can carry that sensation further into evaporation.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable when a persistent, refined greenness is needed that can enter white-floral structures without becoming a dominant cut-grass effect.
