CINNAMON BASE

CINNAMON BASE is a compound spicy base designed to quickly introduce a warm, sweet and enveloping cinnamon effect while avoiding a spice profile that feels too sharp or aggressive.

Olfactory profile

Spicy, warm, sweet and slightly woody, with a soft, rounded sensation. The character is fuller and more gourmand than cardamom and less phenolic than clove.

In formula

It is particularly useful in oriental, gourmand, amber, tobacco, vanilla, cooked-fruit and warm-wood compositions. It can add warmth to the heart, round sweet accords and create continuity between spices, balsams and the base.

With vanilla and benzoin it becomes more gourmand; with tobacco and woods it takes on a drier direction; with cocoa it creates depth and warmth; with cardamom it increases contrast and aromatic freshness.

CINNAMON, CARDAMOM or CLOVE?

CINNAMON BASE is the warmest, sweetest and most enveloping; CARDAMOM BASE is fresher, greener and more aromatic; CLOVE BASE is drier, more phenolic and more incisive. The choice depends on the function you want the spice to perform.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable when a warm, rounded spice effect is needed to support vanilla, amber, tobacco, fruit and woods without becoming too aggressive.
