BENZYL CINNAMATE

BENZYL CINNAMATE is a warm, persistent floral-balsamic raw material, useful mainly for adding body, roundness and continuity to the base. Its odor is less immediate than that of many floral notes, but in a formula it can play an important role as a blending material.

Olfactory profile

Sweet, balsamic, floral and resinous, with nuances of honey, tobacco, dried apricot and soft wood. The character is warm, full and slightly powdery.

In formula

It is particularly useful in white flowers, ylang, tuberose, oriental, amber and balsamic accords. It can increase persistence and volume, soften drier materials and create a natural link between the floral heart and the base.

With BENZYL SALICYLATE it increases structure and softness; with benzoin and resins it becomes more balsamic; with tobacco it gains greater depth; with vanilla and white flowers it creates a warmer, more enveloping texture.

How to work with it

It is a material that shows its value better in the drydown and in the complete formula than alone on a blotter. It can be used both as discreet support and at more substantial levels when a persistent floral-balsamic base needs to be built.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable when continuity, warmth and persistence are needed in floral, resinous, tobacco and amber accords without adding an overly dominant note.
