BENZYL ACETATE
BENZYL ACETATE is one of the classic jasmine materials: bright, floral and fruity, with a volatility that makes it particularly effective in the upper part and heart of a composition. Its value is not in persistence, but in its ability to immediately add luminosity, juiciness and a recognizable floral character.
Olfactory profile
Fresh jasmine, fruity, sweet and luminous, with nuances of cherry, apricot, plum, apple and a light almond note. The character is more juicy and sparkling than creamy.
In formula
BENZYL ACETATE is fundamental in jasmine and gardenia reconstructions and very useful in ylang-ylang and other white flowers. It can give a bouquet a brighter start, add a natural fruity component and lighten accords that feel too dense or indolic.
With BENZYL SALICYLATE it forms a classic combination: the first brings brightness and movement, the second continuity and depth. With HEDIONE® it increases jasmine transparency; with indole or jasmine bases it helps modulate the balance between freshness and animality.
How to work with it
Its relative volatility is part of its function. It should therefore be evaluated not only for longevity on a blotter, but for the contribution it makes to the opening and heart of the formula.
When to choose it
It is particularly suitable for jasmine, gardenia, ylang-ylang, white flowers and fruity florals when more brightness, juiciness and movement are desired in the upper part of the composition.
