BACDANOL® TOCO
BACDANOL® is a sandalwood material with a warm, woody and creamy character, giving an impression closer to freshly cut wood than more milky sandalwood materials. It is particularly useful for adding naturalness and continuity to sandalwood reconstructions.
Olfactory profile
Woody, warm, creamy and persistent, with a clean and relatively natural sandalwood signature. Compared with SANDALORE, the woody component is more evident and the overall effect less milky.
In formula
BACDANOL® can form an important part of a sandalwood accord, support rose and other florals and create a soft but clearly readable base. In woody formulas it makes the drydown warmer and rounder; with musks and ambers it can give a creamier, more continuous sensation.
It is particularly interesting in combination with other sandalwood materials because it allows sandalwood to be built in layers: BACDANOL® contributes the woody, natural side, while creamier or more powerful molecules add volume, milkiness or projection.
BACDANOL® or SANDALORE?
BACDANOL® tends toward a woodier sandalwood closer to the impression of freshly cut wood; SANDALORE is creamier, milkier and more voluminous. Used together they can give a more complete and less linear accord.
When to choose it
It is particularly suitable for sandalwood reconstructions, florals on a woody base, soft amber compositions and musky structures when a warm, persistent sandalwood that is less sweet than creamier materials is desired.
