BLACKCURRANT BERRY BASE is a compound fruity base designed to quickly introduce an intense, green and slightly wild cassis effect. It does not work only on berry juiciness: it also brings the leafy, tart tension that makes blackcurrant recognizable in perfumery.

Olfactory profile

Fruity, green, tart and tannic, with nuances of ripe berries, cassis leaf and a light animalic-sulfurous component typical of more realistic blackcurrant accords.

In formula

It is particularly useful in fruity compositions, rose, modern florals, chypre, musks and green accords. It can energize the top, create contrast with sweet flowers and introduce more interesting depth than a simple berry effect.

With rose and damascones it builds a very natural cassis-floral character; with green materials it increases the leafy facet; with clean musks it becomes more contemporary; with woods and chypre it can take on a darker, more sophisticated nuance.

How to work with it

In small amounts it can make a formula feel livelier and fruitier without turning it into a blackcurrant fragrance. At higher levels it becomes a central signature, where the balance between the green and juicy sides should be controlled carefully.

When to choose it

It is particularly suitable when a recognizable cassis effect is desired that is not simply sweet: green, tart, fruity and slightly wild.
