Pyrazines used in perfumery to create roasted, nutty, cereal-like and gourmand facets.

2-METHYL PYRAZINE and 2-ACETYL PYRAZINE are high-character materials that can evoke hazelnut, popcorn, toasted crust, cereals and other roasted effects, with very different results depending on dosage and formula.

How to use pyrazines in perfumery

Pyrazines are often effective at very low levels and can quickly become dominant. They are useful in gourmand, cocoa, coffee, nut and tobacco accords, and wherever a toasted or food-like facet is required.

For study, it is advisable to work in dilution and evaluate their impact progressively.
