Organoleptic profile
- Appearance : Clear liquid, pale yellow to light orange in color
- Aroma : fresh, spicy and warm, with a vivid note of freshly picked root, slightly woody
- Olfactory family : spicy / aromatic
- Note type : heart note with top impact – gives initial brightness and persistent spicy body
- Persistence on blotter : approximately 4–8 hours , with a very lively opening and well-defined character even in the central phases
Technical parameters
Fresh ginger essential oil has a density at 20°C between 0.870 and 0.890, with a refractive index between 1.480 and 1.500. Its optical rotation ranges from –30° to –10°, and its flash point is around 65°C. It is soluble in ethanol, making it suitable for use in alcohol bases.
The shelf life is approximately 48 months, provided it is stored in well-closed containers, away from light, heat and humidity.

Applications in perfumery
- Fresh, spicy and grounding dominant note: perfect for gourmand, citrus or woody structures
- Ideal as natural bridge between citrus top notes and amber or woody bases
- Powerful stimulant and warming , usable in aromatic, oriental, masculine and unisex formulas
- Recommended doses: up to 5–8% in concentrates; in finished formula <2% depending on the category
- Olfactory duration on the skin : medium, generally between 2 and 4 hours , with a fresh and persistent contribution in the central phase
Usage and mixing
- Excellent solubility in ethanol, even for macerations; emulsions or oily vehicles require miscibility testing.
- It also blends well in carriers such as DPG or benzyl benzoate; it can be added hot (≈ 35 °C) for uniformity.
