Organoleptic profile

• Appearance : viscous liquid, amber-green to golden brown in color
• Aroma : strongly green, penetrating, herbaceous-resinous with bitter and balsamic nuances; intense, almost pungent opening (note of horseradish, onion), which evolves into woody and earthy depths
• Olfactory family : green / resinous / balsamic
• Type of note : heart note with evolution from base note – bright vegetal opening, but persistent and structuring olfactory behavior
• Persistence on blotter : up to 400 hours , typical natural base note behavior

Technical parameters

• Solubility : soluble in alcohol, DPG, benzyl benzoate; insoluble in water
• Density : high viscosity – may require heating (≈ 35–40 °C) to facilitate mixing
• Shelf life : approximately 36 months if stored in an airtight container, away from light, heat and humidity

Applications in perfumery

• Key ingredient for structured green accords, classic chypres, aromatic fougères, leathery and natural botanical perfumery
• It acts as a highly recognizable green note, even at low concentrations (<1%)
• Excellent in combination with: petitgrain, cypress, vetiver, labdanum, patchouli, elemi, galbanum EO
• Historically used in iconic compositions such as Balmain's “Vent Vert” (up to 8%), and present in fragrances by Cartier, Chanel and other great green classics of the twentieth century
