It is a major component of rose absolute, which contains 70-75% phenylethyl alcohol, 10-15% geraniol, approximately 5% citronellol, and 2-3% nerol. Phenylethyl alcohol is also present in neroli, ylang-ylang, clove, and geranium oils. \u003cbr\u003ePhenylethyl alcohol has a faint rose scent. It is used in large quantities as a flavoring not only for rose compositions, but also for other floral notes. It is resistant to alkalis, which is why it is used in perfumery for soap. It enhances floral notes.
